Privacy Policy
Last updated [publish date]
Future1 Community ("Future1," "we," "us") runs the Local Business Growth Lab, an 8 week work-based learning program, and helps local businesses solve problems with AI. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and what we do with it.
What we collect
When you book a call
- Business owners and employers. Your name, business name, email, phone, the problem you want to solve, and anything you choose to tell us.
- Schools, districts, and youth programs. Your name, role, organization, email, phone, how many students you are thinking about, and when you want to start.
- Parents and guardians. Your name, email, phone, and your son or daughter's grade. We do not ask for your child's name on this form.
When a student enrolls, after the call
- The student's name, school, grade, and email, so we can send session links and support project outreach.
- Signed permission and consent forms from a parent or guardian.
During the program
- Attendance, hours logs, tools logs, assignments, and assessments, so we can verify hours and report progress to the student's school or program.
- Recordings of live sessions only when every student's parent or guardian has given written consent.
When you pay
- Payments are handled by our payment provider, Stripe. We do not store full card numbers.
When you visit the site
- Basic information like pages visited and the type of device, collected through cookies and analytics so we can improve the site.
How we use it
- To prepare for and hold your 20 minute call.
- To enroll students, run the program, verify hours, and share progress with the student's school or program.
- To send program updates and session links.
- To send updates about other Future1 programs, only if you checked the box to receive them. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- To process payments and keep business records.
Students and AI tools
- Students do their work in their own school accounts or in accounts their parent approves. Future1 does not create accounts for students.
- Students may use AI tools approved by their school and named on the permission form.
- No customer data from a participating business goes into an AI tool without that business owner's written permission.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information.
- The student's school or program. Hours logs, assessments, and final reports.
- The participating business. Students' first names and their project work during sessions and the final presentation.
- Service providers who help us run Future1. Website hosting, payment processing, email, and video meetings. They may use your information only to provide their service to us.
- When the law requires it.
Children's privacy
The Growth Lab is for high school students. We collect student information only after a parent, guardian, school, or program enrolls the student. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
How long we keep it
We keep program records, including hours logs and final reports, for [3] years so schools and programs can use them for reporting. We keep booking information for as long as it is needed to follow up with you, then delete it. You can ask us to delete your information sooner.
How we protect it
We limit access to the people who need it and use services with standard security protections. No system is perfectly secure, and we will tell you if a breach affects your information.
Your choices
- Ask to see, correct, or delete your information.
- Unsubscribe from updates using the link in any email.
- A parent or guardian can withdraw consent for a student at any time.

Terms of Use
Last updated [publish date]
These terms apply to future1community.com and to the Local Business Growth Lab. By using the site, booking a call, or enrolling in the program, you agree to these terms.
The program
- The Local Business Growth Lab is an 8 week virtual work-based learning program. Students train on a real business problem, coached by Future1, with the business as their case study.
- Students produce ready-to-implement recommendations and mockups, not finished work. Students are not employees of Future1 or of the participating business.
- Future1 verifies student hours. Whether hours count for school credit is up to the student's school.
- Future1 does not promise a job, an internship, a credential, or a specific result for any student or business.
Students
- A parent or guardian must sign a permission form before a student under 18 joins a live session.
- Students agree to follow the program's AI rules and conduct expectations. Future1 may remove a student who puts others at risk or repeatedly breaks the rules, after talking with the parent, guardian, or school.
- Live sessions are held on Google Meet. There are no 1 on 1 sessions between an adult and a student.
Businesses
- Track 1, the Growth Lab. At no cost to the business. The business agrees to give about 3 hours over 8 weeks and 1 real problem. The business may use the recommendations and mockups the students present. Students may show their work in their portfolio, except anything the business marks private.
- Track 2, Future1 builds it now. Covered by a separate written agreement that sets the scope, price, and timeline.
- The business owns its accounts, tools, and data. Students never receive passwords or customer records.
Payments and refunds
- Student seats are paid at enrollment, by the school, program, or parent.
- If a cohort does not open, the seat rolls to the next cohort or is refunded in full, your choice.
- If a student withdraws before week 2, [refund amount]. After week 2, [refund policy].
- Schools and programs may pay by purchase order or invoice.
Our materials
The program materials, prompts, templates, and Growth Lab Coach belong to Future1. You may use them only as part of the program.
Limits
Future1 provides the program and site as is. To the fullest extent the law allows, Future1 is not responsible for business decisions made using student recommendations, or for indirect losses. Our total responsibility is limited to the amount paid to Future1 for the service involved.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota.
